A Reason For Everything
Genesis 45: 4 - 8

There are times when we don't understand why certain incidents happen in our lives. It's not for us to understand everything. If we did, then we would not have a need for God's guidance and direction. We find ourselves so misunderstood. No one believing us for the truth that lies within us. But God has a way of bringing the truth to the light. All we have to do is allow Him time to work our situations out.

There is something unsettling about being told to forget the past. There is without a doubt, something within us that encloses the past and fears the future.

We find here Joseph is revealing himself to his brothers, whom they thought was probably dead because they had sold him and did not know what had happened to hint God let's us know there is a "REASON FOR EVERY THING." Already afraid of their circumstances that was surrounding them. They became even more afraid, when they realized that this was their brother that they had wronged whom they were dealing with.

God allowed Joseph to have a forgiving heart to tell them that, "It is I, your brother, be not afraid." The same thing God tells our church when we are faced with opposition and trial and tribulations on every hand. There is "A REASON FOR EVERYTHING."

Joseph told his brothers to draw near to him. God encourages us to draw near to Him when He manifested Himself to us. He already knew what's happening and He knows what will happen in the future. Why not surrender to God Almighty.

God could have chosen any of the twelve brothers. But God knew who could stand the fiery tests that would be set before Him. I can imagine what was going through Joseph's mind, after being placed in a pit and sold by his brothers. Many times we question God on why this trial or why this tribulation.

Why must I go here, why must I go there, why must I do this. God has already mapped out a plan according to his salvation. All we must realize there is "A REASON FOR EVERY THING."

We must follow where He leads. Sometimes it will be frustrating and sometimes it will be joyful. No matter what it is, if God directs us, count it all joy. Joseph is here telling his brothers don't be angry or grieve with yourselves for selling me. God sent me ahead of you to preserve life, and the life of our family because we're the seed of a chosen people, the Israelites.

When we as sinners sin we may feel guilty and become angry with ourselves. God lets us know by His power!! He can bring good out of our sins. And yet, at the same we must never give way to satan in thinking something good will come out of wrongs we may commit, thinking that it was Alright.

We must realize the wrong that is inflicted upon another is not going unnoticed. God has his own time of bringing it to the light. For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Rom. 8:28). There is "A REASON FOR EVERY THING."

But let us let go of the wrong that has been inflicted upon us. As Isaiah stated in Chapter 43 verse 18. Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Allow God to do a new thing in your life. Ask God to create a new spirit and a clean heart in you. As Joseph did, Joseph was blessed and he shared his blessing with his family even though they had wronged him. This is of God. This is what God is all about. He is saying to us, "Church there is...A REASON FOR EVERYTHING."
